  • This can be used to order repeat medication and book appointments
  • You can book appointments with you own doctor, an assistant doctor or a nurse up to two weeks in advance - depending on availability. 
  • Repeat prescriptions can be ordered from 7 days before they are due to run out.

Making an Appointment

Online appointments can be booked two weeks in advance with your own doctor , an assistant doctor or a nurse - depending on availability

Routine Appointments:

  • Each appointment offered is for 10 minutes which sadly only allows a limited time for discussion so multiple or complex problems may therefore require a further appointment. If you feel that your appointment will exceed 10 minutes please inform the receptionist and she will try and allocate a little more time.
  • Routine/Review appointments should be arranged after 9.00am.
  • We also provide telephone consultations with a GP or Nurse on most days that the surgery is open. If you feel that your problem or medication review could be dealt with by the telephone please arrange with the receptionist for the doctor to phone you. Telephone consultations normally take place at the end of morning, afternoon and evening surgeries.
  • If you know in advance when you need to see the doctor (for example for a follow up or routine appointment or for a condition that will wait until it is convenient for you to see a particular doctor) please try to make your appointment a week or so in advance. Pre-booked appointments can be made up to six weeks in advance.

Urgent Appointments

  • If you need an appointment urgently please phone the surgery as early as possible during the day. If there are no available appointments and you feel that you need to be seen please tell the receptionist why so that they can help you.
  • We have a doctor who is on call to the practice on a daily basis in the afternoon for emergencies. If you ring after 12.00pm and feel the matter is urgent and there are no available afternoon appointments you will be offered an appointment in the emergency clinic.
  • If you would like a chaperone in attendance during your consultation/examination please ask.

Saturday morning surgery is reserved mostly for urgent problems (those that cannot wait until Monday), however there are some pre booked appointments, but we ask people to please avoid this surgery for routine matters unless absolutely necessary and repeat prescriptions.

 

 

 

 

Extended Hours We also offer early morning (from 7.30 am) and evening (until 7pm) pre-booked routine appointments, aimed at people who cannot get to the surgery during working hours. We regret we are not open for emergencies during this time.

Out of hours services There is ALWAYS a doctor on call if you require medical attention URGENTLY. When the surgery is closed, the automated system linked to the phone number will transfer your call to our out of hours services which is the BADGER COOPERATIVE who will give medical advice by telephone, ask to see the patient at their “drop in centre” or make a home visit as appropriate.
