Blood tests have a wide range of uses and are one of the most common types of medical test. For example, a blood test can be used to: assess your general state of health check if you have an infection see how well certain organs, such as the liver and kidneys, are working screen for certain genetic conditions Most blood tests only take a few minutes to complete and are carried out at your GP surgery or local hospital by a doctor, nurse or phlebotomist (a specialist in taking blood samples).

We have a number of clinics every week with our trained phlebotomists at the surgery for blood tests.

However, we recognise that sometimes our wait time can vary. If you do not wish to wait for an appointment for a blood test at the surgery, you can attend a walk-in clinic at the hospital providing you take your blood form with you.

The hospitals that have walk-in clinics are:

Good Hope Hospital – over 12’s only

Solihull Hospital – over 12’s only

Heartlands Hospital – over 16’s only

TO OBTAIN YOUR BLOOD TEST FORM please ask at reception however, please note our receptionists are unable to print off blood forms, this must be done by a clinician so there may be a wait.

Please visit individual hospital websites for up to date details of their walk-in clinics as these are subject to change.”
